Soil is the most important ingredient in any landscape. Soils act as the anchor for all plants. Healthy soils permit air, water, and nutrients to reach plants making them capable of a long, healthy life.

Most soils in our area are not rich in organic matter after being fed a diet that force-feeds them high nitrogen derived from synthetic fertilizers that leaves the soil depleted of nutrients and organic matter. Synthetic fertilizers also have fillers, usually clay (we don’t need any more of that) and salts that inhibit a plant's ability to take up nutrients.

Morgreen now offers a fertilization program designed to replace organic matter in your soil, while increasing the population of microbes and beneficial insects, therefore decreasing the need for chemical applications of pesticides, herbicides, and other toxic chemicals. Morgreen believes that healthy soils promote healthy plants and college testing proves this as a fact!

Chemical- Free Lawn And Landscape Services From Morgreen

Lawn & Landscape Fertilization

We will fertilize your entire landscape using Greensense products that are specially made for your situation. There are specific needs that your landscape will require and we will fulfill those needs with the appropriate fertilizer.

Turf-Greensense 6-2-4, All-Purpose Fertilizer will be applied four times per year at a rate of 20 pounds per thousand square feet.

The schedule may vary depending on your start up time. Start up can be during any month and we will reapply every three months from whenever we start.

Landscape Beds

Landscape beds should contain enough organic matter to feed the plants and keep them healthy. Upon inspection of soil conditions Morgreen will determine the need for organic matter in the form of compost or any combination of GreenSense amendments best suited for your specific soils needs. Cotton bur compost is the richest form of compost available to our industry and will help bring your soil back to health quickly.

For ongoing maintenance to ensure healthy soils GreenSense 6-2-4 and other products such as Minerals Plus, Humate, Greensense Rose Food etc., to feed your plants and your soil to promote health and vigor to help repel pest. Morgreen recommends fertilization of flowerbeds and gardens would be done in conjunction with lawn fertilization. Regular applications of compost and mulch over your landscaped beds will help retain moisture and moderate soil temperatures while replacing organic matter.

Weed control in beds

Through the use of mulches such as hardwood, pine or pine straw, hand weeding and some spot post emergent spray with vinegars we can help keep weeds in your beds under control.

Cotton Burr Compost (for beds)

Compost is an excellent mild fertilizer that adds nutrients to the soil, improves its physical characteristics and its ability to hold water and nutrients. A layer of 1 (one) inch thick is recommended, then mulch accordingly.

Recommended for mid to late winter once a year .

Microbial Treatment

GreenSense Lawn & Garden Microbial Solution improves the health of the soil releasing millions of microbes to help break down organic matter into particles more easily accepted by plants roots. In a process known as mineralization Humic acid, and other trace elements are more readily available to the plants when microbes are living in your soil. By releasing microbes into the soil we can help compaction and improve percolation. In most instances mechanical aeration becomes unnecessary. Another reason for applying One quart of healthy soil contains millions of microbes. This helps create a cycle necessary to all life.

It should be used in combination with a food source such as an organic fertilizer, dry molasses, compost or Humate.

Trees are the most important item in your landscape healthy trees can shade your home and make your outdoor living more comfortable while increasing the value of your property.

Sick trees can cause injuries or damage to your home while decreasing the esthetic value of your landscaping and your property.

Mycor Root Builder applications

Beneficial mycorrhizal fungi that forms a symbiotic relationship between the roots and soil, improving the uptake of nutrients. Mycorrhizal fungi are root colonizing microbes that enable the plant to form a larger and better root structure.

Recommended as needed for trees that have root rot or general decline of the root system. Improperly planted trees can have severe damage to the root system Morgreen can inspect the roots of your trees to ensure health of root flare and overall condition of trees

Foliar Spray Applications

A blend of fish emulsion, kelp, blackstrap molasses, apple cider, vinegar and Epsom salts. A complete foliar spray that will ensure nutrients and trace minerals reach the trees canopy helping develop stronger branch structure.

Recommended four applications once a month during the growing season while leaves are tender.

Nature’s Blend (for turf)

This is a Cotton burr based product that also has Humate, Cow Manure, and Alfalfa Meal in it. By applying it to turf in the early part of the year it can help in drought stress, fungal control, and nutrient retention. One bag does approximately 30 sq. feet.

Recommended once a year from early spring to late summer.
